How the application works

Technical Architecture

How Glide, Google Cloud, and Stripe work together to deliver Monster AI Languages.

Application platform: Glide

Monster AI Languages is built using Glide, a no-code, AI-powered application development platform that allows developers to create responsive mobile and web applications using spreadsheets, databases, visual components, and automated workflows. Glide provides the application's user interface, navigation, data tables, and user-facing functionality.

Glide applications are delivered as Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) rather than traditional native applications distributed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Users access Monster AI Languages through a simple web link, without downloading software from an app store. The application works across major platforms, including Apple iPhones, iPads, and Mac computers; Android smartphones and tablets; and Windows laptops and desktop computers. On supported devices, users can add Monster AI Languages to their home screen or desktop for convenient, app-like access.

Backend services

Monster AI Languages integrates three important backend services:

Google Cloud Run

Google Cloud Run hosts custom JavaScript services, which provide server-side processing, external API integrations, language translation, subscription administration, and communication between Glide and other systems.

Google Cloud Firestore

Google Cloud Firestore is a cloud-hosted NoSQL database used to store operational records, track administrative transactions, maintain processing state, and support secure coordination between backend services. Firestore complements Glide's application data tables rather than replacing them.

Stripe

Stripe provides subscription billing and payment processing, including customer records, STANDARD and PREMIUM subscription plans, recurring payments, and administrative discount programs. Stripe is the authoritative source for financial and subscription billing information, while Glide maintains the application data and synchronized subscription status needed for the user experience.

How it fits together

Together, these technologies form a coordinated architecture in which Glide manages the application experience, Google Cloud Run executes custom backend logic, Google Cloud Firestore maintains operational state, and Stripe manages subscription billing and financial transactions.
